Joining Hands for Metaverse Talent Development and Expert Personnel Exchange

Sogang University Graduate School of Metaverse announced signing an MOU with Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI)'s Open XR Platform Convergence Research Group (established June 2022, comprising KISTI, KAIST, Korea Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology, and Korea Institute of Oriental Medicine) for mutual cooperation in metaverse industry and research development. The OXR Platform Convergence Research Group is building an open XR technology platform using VR, AR, and MR immersive technologies for efficient performance of essential social functions in education, industry, and healthcare.

Planned cooperation: joint educational curriculum development and operation for nurturing excellent metaverse talent; internship program development and operation within the OXR Convergence Research Group; joint utilization of research outcomes and educational infrastructure; mutual cooperation for professional personnel sharing and exchange. Dean Hyun: "Through this MOU, we will develop innovative research and practical educational models in the metaverse field, contributing to nurturing professionals who lead the future of the industry — particularly through this agreement, we will work harder on nurturing professionals with practical problem-solving capabilities and lead in building the metaverse ecosystem."
