KAIST announced it will hold the "MetaDaejeon Forum 2024" on the 22nd at the 6th Meeting Room of the National Assembly Members' Office. Co-hosted by Representative Cho Seung-rae's office, KAIST Graduate School of Metaverse, ETRI (Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute), and KISTI (Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information), the forum concretizes the vision "NewJam Daejeon: Find New (New York) Fun in Daejeon, K-Cultural Technology to the World!" and discusses strategies for Daejeon's growth as a metaverse hub. Key agenda items: meta-museum implementation connecting New York and Daejeon, establishment of an open industry-academia-research joint metaverse research institute, and regional solidarity with Daegu and Gwangju beyond Daejeon — transitioning from "NoJam Daejeon" (boring Daejeon) to "NewJam Daejeon" (exciting Daejeon) as a metaverse center.
