North Gyeongsang Province Office of Education will open "Dokdo Metaverse" on Liberation Day (August 15) to mark the 79th anniversary of Korea's liberation. Dokdo Metaverse was developed to overcome the one-way communication limitations of the existing Cyber Dokdo School website and provide a two-way interactive Dokdo education model in a metaverse space for the future educational environment. Contents include: how to get to Dokdo; Dokdo ecosystem; Dokdo Defense Unit; Dokdo's historical and geographical characteristics; educational content (games). Citizens of Korea and people worldwide can more realistically experience Dokdo's historical and geographical importance.
Features: VR headset compatibility for near-realistic Dokdo experiences including a virtual roller coaster tour; teacher management functions for creating learning spaces and managing students; diverse Dokdo educational content and special exhibition spaces for real-time online classes. The platform will be linked to the existing Cyber Dokdo School website to increase visitor effectiveness. Superintendent Im Jong-sik: "The Dokdo Metaverse platform will completely transcend the existing Dokdo education paradigm — it is expected to play a role in correctly introducing Dokdo to the world."
