Gyeonggi Content Promotion Agency (GCA) announced on the 6th that the Gyeonggi Metaverse Support Center it operates held the "2024 Gyeonggi Metaverse Forum" sharing AI and metaverse technology trends on September 5 at the Next Generation Convergence Technology Research Institute in Suwon City. The Gyeonggi Metaverse Forum is an event organized by the Gyeonggi Metaverse Support Center established with support from the Ministry of Science and ICT, Gyeonggi Province, National IT Industry Promotion Agency, and GCA to share the latest information on the metaverse and XR industry, explore activation measures, and create a channel for business strategy and communication. This forum featured presentations on AI-expanded metaverse technology, enterprise XR use case studies, and panel discussions on the convergence of AI and metaverse for next-generation content. Key presentations covered: generative AI applications for metaverse content creation (reducing the cost of populating virtual environments); enterprise use cases for XR in manufacturing quality control and training; the regulatory and standardization landscape for metaverse services in Korea; the forum serves the dual purpose of knowledge sharing and networking for the Gyeonggi-based metaverse industry cluster.
