A Space Where Experience and Consumption Converge

Roblox has opened an offline pop-up store in Korea. Going beyond an immersive gaming platform, a "cultural experiment" combining fandom, creation, and community has begun in earnest. On August 1, 2025, Roblox officially opened Korea''s first offline pop-up "READY, SET, ROBLOX" at Hyundai Department Store Pangyo, running through August 17, utilizing major spaces from basement level 1 event hall to 10th floor Topaz Hall.

The pop-up features a play zone for directly playing popular games, an MD zone for merchandise, an avatar photo zone, and user-participatory esports events. Notably, Pond Studio''s new game "Prism Runway Show" received its global premiere — a dress-up game where users style avatars and put them on a runway, representing Roblox''s creative ecosystem. The MD zone offers 93 types of Roblox merchandise, with first-come-first-served special merchandise purchase opportunities for 100 people daily. Digital items, posters, and badge giveaways are provided for purchases above certain amounts. Booth stamp missions give visitors limited-edition gifts, with one digital asset provided to all visitors. Creator fan meetings are held every weekend with popular creators like "Funckerson," "Wangkl Sejong," "Bbangsin," and "Sarang." The "Super Match" event is an esports-format tournament where game developers, creators, and general users form teams to compete — winners receive Roblox Developer Day participation rights and special ceremony attendance opportunities.

Richard Chae, Head of Roblox Korea, emphasized "Roblox is evolving from a simple gaming platform to a cultural platform where fans and creators coexist." This pop-up is not just a brand experience — it shows Roblox''s business model expansion: content offline-ization (digital items → physical merchandise → offline experience), creator ecosystem strengthening (game creators, fans, and creators meeting in one space), and digital citizenship education combination. "READY, SET, ROBLOX" is a symbolic event demonstrating that Roblox is evolving beyond gaming into a "cultural ecosystem" encompassing creation, community, consumption, and education. This small experiment starting in Pangyo may be the prologue showing how Roblox will connect and restructure the world going forward.
