Each Robot Performs Its Role While Cooperating to Hand Off Objects — Future ''Collective Function'' Potential
Contributing to Productivity Improvement in Elder Care, Household Support, and Industrial Logistics
US robotics startup Figure AI is drawing industry attention after releasing demonstration videos of its humanoid robot "Figure 02" equipped with its latest AI model "HELIX." The video shows two Figure02 robots sorting groceries and cooperating to hand off items based on the simple voice command "tidy up" — quickly distinguishing items for the refrigerator from those for the shelf, demonstrating "collective intelligence" beyond conventional single-robot systems.
HELIX is advanced machine learning technology evolving existing Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models — designed to allow robots to analyze visual environment data in real-time, quickly grasp human intent implied in natural language commands, and convert it into appropriate actions. The architecture separating scene recognition and language interpretation into independent modules is a key factor significantly improving data processing speed and accuracy. Figure AI CEO Brett Adcock: "This HELIX technology disclosure is a short-term achievement following the end of collaboration with OpenAI — we plan to release a next-generation model with unprecedented capabilities within 30 days." Applications: elder care, smart home management, household assistance; industrial logistics, warehouse management, and manufacturing automation with multi-robot task division systems. Figure AI has secured massive funding from investors including Microsoft, NVIDIA, and Jeff Bezos.
