Gwangju Metropolitan City signed its 204th through 213th MOUs on the 27th at City Hall's Business Room with 10 AI companies in diverse fields including platforms, healthcare, and content: Clion, Digital Log Technologies, BioComm, Ineasy, Suromind, Dorumis, Junction Med, M Corporation, HelpTeacher, and Restof. Companies agreed to establish local corporations or regional offices in Gwangju to pursue AI specialized technology development and commercialization, actively cooperating in building Gwangju's AI ecosystem and creating new jobs. Key MOU contents: technology development and commercialization for AI specialist ecosystem building; establishment of Gwangju corporations or regional offices for AI professional talent development and job creation; development and operation of various enterprise support programs; planning and execution of AI professional personnel education and employment programs.
Mayor Kang Ki-jeong: "Gwangju is rapidly advancing AI projects worth approximately 1 trillion won, welcoming Korea's AI companies — Gwangju City will continue doing its best to ensure companies choosing Gwangju can connect that choice to new opportunities." This brings Gwangju's total MOU partners to 213 AI companies, reflecting the city's strategy to become Korea's AI demonstration city through concentrated investment in AI infrastructure, talent development, and corporate attraction since adopting the "AI City Gwangju" vision in 2019.
