Korea Metaverse Industry Association (Chairman Shin Su-jeong) announced on the 23rd that it will hold the "2024 Korea Metaverse Festival (KMF 2024)" and various events during the "2024 Metaverse Week" in the third week of October. The Metaverse Week supporting organizations for "KMF 2024" include National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA), Korea Radio Promotion Association (RAPA), Institute for Information and Communications Technology Planning and Evaluation (IITP), Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI), the global academic organization International Metaverse Association (IMA), and Wonkwang University leading domestic hologram technology -- with industry, academia, and research preparing metaverse-related events together. The annual Korea Metaverse Festival is the flagship event of the Korean metaverse industry -- providing a showcase for domestic metaverse companies to demonstrate capabilities, attract investment, and engage with government policymakers who attend; the 2024 edition reflects a metaverse industry that has survived the post-2022 hype correction and is demonstrating real enterprise applications.
