Korea Metaverse Industry Association (Chairman Shin Su-jeong) announced the holding of the "2024 Korea Metaverse Festival (KMF 2024)" from Thursday the 17th to Saturday the 19th for 3 days at the Yangjae aT Center entire venue. The "KMF 2024," now in its 9th year, is Korea largest festival of the metaverse industry, hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and organized by National IT Industry Promotion Agency and Korea Metaverse Industry Association. Starting with an opening event with the catchphrase "Metaverse, Spreading Wings of Convergence!", the event includes a metaverse exhibition, Global Metaverse Conference, and diverse events linked with Metaverse Week activities. The 9th annual KMF demonstrating the event sustainability despite the metaverse market correction: the festival has maintained continuity through the 2021 hype peak, the 2022-2023 correction, and is now positioning around the convergence of AI and metaverse rather than metaverse as a standalone category; the "Spreading Wings of Convergence" theme acknowledges that metaverse technology achieving real impact requires integration with AI, 5G, cloud, and industry-specific applications rather than being a destination in itself; the Yangjae aT Center entire venue reflects the continued governmental commitment to the sector despite commercial market volatility.
