K9 Self-Propelled Howitzer with Domestic Engine, World Highest Level "0.25m Class Small SAR Satellite" Also Showcased
Presenting Region-Customized Solutions with Cutting-Edge Technology... Will Contribute to Middle East Regional Security and Economy
Hanwha Aerospace and Hanwha Systems participated in IDEX 2025 (International Defence Exhibition and Conference), the largest defense industry exhibition in the Middle East and Africa, held in Abu Dhabi, UAE from the 17th to 21st. L-SAM (Long-range Surface-to-Air Missile) was unveiled in the Middle East for the first time -- the long-range component of Korea multi-layer air defense system; combined with M-SAM (medium-range) and anti-drone systems, the integrated air defense solution addresses the layered threat environment that Middle Eastern customers face; the 0.25m resolution small SAR satellite represents Hanwha Systems space defense capability; the customized solution presentation reflects the K-Defense export strategy of offering complete system integration rather than individual weapons platforms. The IDEX significance for Korea defense exports: following the historic Poland order (K2 tanks, K9 howitzers, FA-50 jets -- 14.5 billion USD) and Australia armored vehicle selection, Middle East is a major expansion target; the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and other Gulf states are significant defense spenders with multi-layered air defense needs (ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, drones) that Korea integrated solutions address.
