Samsung Electronics unveiled its residential heat pump "EHS (Eco Heating System)" at CES 2025 (January 7, Las Vegas), aggressively targeting the US HVAC market. EHS, used for floor heating and hot water in residential and commercial buildings, uses air heat and electricity to produce hot water — higher efficiency and lower carbon emissions than fossil fuel boilers. Currently sold in 40+ European countries, expansion to the US market is planned for next year. US-targeted products: two indoor units (Climate Hub Mono with 200L dedicated water tank; compact wall-mounted Hydro Unit Mono) and one outdoor unit (Mono R32 HT Quiet). Both indoor units feature 7-inch touchscreen-based "AI Home" for intuitive product control and connected device management, "3D Map View" for indoor temperature settings, and SmartThings integration for solar energy monitoring. The outdoor unit is engineered 10% above the highest efficiency rating SCOP A+++, uses R32 refrigerant (32% GWP of conventional R410), supplies maximum 70°C hot water, and delivers 100% heating performance even at -25°C. Samsung DA Division VP Choi Hang-seok: "We will aggressively target the US market with our EHS product that integrates AI Home and SmartThings for convenient energy management on top of high performance and efficiency."
