Busan Information Industry Promotion Agency announced on the 3rd that it successfully operated the "Korea XR and Metaverse Joint Pavilion" at the "2024 Thailand National Science and Technology Fair" as part of the "Korea-ASEAN ICT Convergence Village Construction and Operation" project. The Korea Joint Pavilion, operated from August 16 to 25 at Thailand IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center, was visited by 32 organizations and 16 companies from 6 countries, conducting a total of 70 consultations with Korean Joint Pavilion participating companies. As a result, consultation amount of approximately 43.345 million USD was recorded, further increasing the possibility of entering the global market. The Korea Joint Pavilion featured XR and metaverse content companies from Korea regional metaverse support centers, demonstrating Korea virtual reality and augmented reality technology capabilities to Southeast Asian markets. The Thailand National Science Fair is one of the largest science and technology exhibitions in Southeast Asia -- Korea participation through this dedicated pavilion format is part of the broader ASEAN digital economy partnership strategy, with XR/metaverse as a technology export category where Korea has demonstrated competitive capability through platforms like ZEPETO and various enterprise XR solutions.
