Roblox announced at G-STAR (Korea's largest annual game convention) the global launch of "Assistant," a conversational AI helping creators worldwide create more easily and efficiently on Roblox. Roblox also launched a new real-time translation API enabling translation of user-generated text in 3D immersive games and experiences, and announced research progress on image and thumbnail translation technology supporting connectivity across 16 languages. Creators using AI have published approximately 31% more content. Assistant is now available to all Roblox creators via Roblox Studio, including Korean language support.
Three new Assistant features: (1) DataModel Context — expanded context awareness enabling the Assistant to understand all elements composing a user's experience (environments, scripts, 3D objects) without explicit specification; (2) Multi-Script Insertion — dynamic modification of existing scripts and iteration on generated scripts in collaboration with creators; (3) Creator Store Insertion — support for inserting 3D models from the Creator Store marketplace. The real-time translation API (currently in closed beta, planned for all-creator release in first half of next year) translates all user-generated text within immersive experiences to each user's preferred language — for example, a store named "Grocery Store" automatically appears as "식료품점" for Korean users. Upcoming: automatic translation for experience icons/thumbnails and in-experience images, preserving original style and feel. Roblox's 3D Foundational Model (open-source, multi-modal input) will further expand scene generation capabilities inside and outside Roblox.
