Daegu Metropolitan City Office of Education (Superintendent Kang Eun-hee) announced the "2025 Academic Year Daegu Science Education Implementation Plan" on the 24th to build a foundation for future-oriented science education and develop creative convergence talent with scientific literacy through strengthening basic science education. Daegu Office of Education will operate 30%+ of science class hours as experiment-based classes to strengthen inquiry and experiment-centered basic science education. For this purpose, it plans to secure 3%+ of school basic operating expenses for purchasing science experiment equipment and materials to build the foundation for science inquiry activities. Additionally, it will support 25 million KRW per school for building "Intelligent Science Labs" using advanced science technology, and operate 20 "Intelligent Science Lab ON" teacher practitioners to directly support school sites. Science education programs planned: software and AI integrated science curriculum; collaboration with Daegu science research institutions for student research opportunities; science competition and exhibition events to motivate advanced learners; the "intelligent science lab" concept integrates sensors, data collection tools, and AI analysis to modernize traditional experiment-based learning.
