First Chairman of the Council: Professor Won Yu-jae, Chungnam National University
Auditor: Song Yun-ho, Former Head of ICT Grand Alliance

The Korea Cyber Security Alliance (KCSA) opened its inaugural general assembly event and officially launched at L Tower in Yangjae-dong, Seoul on the 6th, with the goal of becoming a cooperative platform sharing knowledge and experience related to cybersecurity technology, policy, and culture, and uniting cybersecurity capabilities.

The council decided to form a cooperative community where government, industry, academia, and research institutions come together to share cybersecurity-related information, solve problems together, and learn through each other's experiences.

Until now, information security organizations had been centered on information security solution providers and user enterprise organizations, but recognizing the need at a time when various incidents have recently occurred for an organization capable of incorporating cybersecurity experts' voices, it was announced that cybersecurity and information protection experts centered on themselves founded the Cyber Security Council.

The council, composed of experts from academia, research institutions, industry, and public institutions, aims to contribute to creating a safe cyber environment in the Republic of Korea through projects including ▲policy development on cybersecurity, personal information protection, and digital trust, ▲hosting related academic conferences, seminars, and forums, ▲developing education and workforce training programs, ▲pursuing joint research and industry-academia-research cooperation projects with public, private, and international organizations, and ▲supporting small and medium enterprises, youth, and digitally vulnerable groups to fulfill social responsibilities.

The founding general assembly commemorative dinner was attended not only by National Assembly Member Kim Hee-jung (People Power Party) and Ministry of Science and ICT Section Chief Choi Woo-hyeok, but also former KISA Directors Hwang Jung-yeon and Jo Seong-gap who served as agency heads before the integration, and post-integration agency heads Lee Gi-ju (current Korean CISO Council President), Lee Won-tae (current Quantum Security Forum President), and current KISA Director Lee Sang-joong, who offered congratulatory and encouraging speeches.

Professor Won Yu-jae of Chungnam National University was elected as the council's first chairman, and Song Yun-ho (WIZ Korea Senior Advisor), former Head of ICT Grand Alliance, took the role of auditor.

Chairman Won Yu-jae stated: "I will work to create a security ecosystem where national strategies, industries, and technologies are organically linked, strengthen response frameworks where public and private sectors can practically cooperate, and through cooperation with various experts both domestically and internationally contribute to positioning the Republic of Korea as a model nation of global cybersecurity."
